Sept. 10 Scam alert 4:11 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman reported that her mother received a call from someone claiming to be with the Canadian police. The Canadian police reported that her grandson had been arrested, before putting her “grandson” on the phone. They realized it was a scam.

Snakes alive!
Aug. 30 12:21 p.m. — 600 block of Fox Street. Animal Nuisance. A man called police after he found his cat playing with a snake that he thought may be some sort of rattlesnake.

Playing possum?
Sept. 23, 2:39 a.m. — 3700 block of Flamingo Avenue. General Suspicion. A man told police he heard two people jump off the seawall behind his home and into a lagoon. Officers investigated, but found only a wet opossum sitting in a tree.
