Homesick Hound

March 17, 5:35 p.m. — 700 block of Land’s End Drive. Animal Found. A woman told police that she found her neighbor's dog roaming near Whitney Beach Plaza. The dog's owners appeared to be out of town and the neighbor agreed to take the dog until they returned. Later, it was discovered the homesick dog had run away from the sister of the dog's owner.

The suspect was observed placing items into the bottom of a stroller by Wal-Mart security. She was detained without incident.

Late for a very important date
9:18 a.m. — 5400 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. Police pulled over a woman for passing two cars in a right-turn-only lane. The driver, who received a ticket for reckless driving, told police she was late for an art show at Coquina Beach.

Feb. 19, 1:38 a.m. — 500 block of Sutton Place. Security Check. A woman called police to report a light on inside her home that she did not remember turning on before she left the house. Police checked out her home before she entered it and deemed it safe.
